James Callis
This British actor was born and brought up in London. He went to Harrow school in north west London and graduated from University of York in 1993 with a BA in English and related literature. At university level also he showed keen interest in acting, directing and writing. In 1996, he graduated from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Callis received Most Promising Newcomer for his theatrical performance in Old Wicked Songs. His directorial debut was with Beginner’s Luck. His first film role was in Bridget Jones Diary, alongside Renée Zellweger& Hugh Grant.
Callis is probably best known for his role of Dr. Gaius Baltar in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica miniseries and television series. He has also won Best Supporting Actor Saturn Award, a Peabody Award, and an AFI award, all for Battlestar Galactica.
Apart from acting, directing, and writing, he writes music, and plays piano and guitar. Currently he lives in London with his wife, neha and their two sons Joshua and Sacha.
