As of now, we don’t know what’d be the future of ‘Battlestar Galactica‘. It’s apparent that series would not return with fifth season and chances of a spin off are here. Well, talking about spin off now is of no use as it’d easily take at least one year to produce the new show….. So, we’re leaving it now and would pick it up later.

Series’ latest episode ‘Sometimes a Great Notion’ was aired on January 16, 2009. Here we saw that the humans of Colonial fleet and their Cylon allies fighting against the overwhelming emotion as they came to terms with the discovery of devastated earth. Next we saw that as the despair starting spreading, unknown and hidden secrets of the ruined planet brought terrifying discoveries.

Next episode of the season is entitled ‘A Disquiet Follows my Soul’ and would be aired on January 23, 2009. Now, the latest with Battlestar Galactica is that SCI FI.COM has announced a new Battlestar Galactica webisodes, ‘The Face of the Enemy’. The two webisodes will debut weekly, leading up to the on-air return of the series on Jan. 16, 2009. Each of the Webisodes will be three- to four-minute long and will contain information that will complement and enhance the action broadcast on SCI FI and give viewers more insight into characters and events from the fourth and final season. This Webisodes have been written by Jane Espenson and Seamus Kevin Fahey. “The Face of the Enemy” will follow the action and suspense that takes place inside a stranded Raptor. The suspense starts when all of a sudden passengers start dying in alarming ways. The killing rises suspicion in the ship that there is killer among them.

Oh man… I am dying to watch this series. Now it is getting difficult to wait for the 16th of January. Actually, we have already waited so much that now as the time is getting close, I am getting more and more impatient. Anyways, thanks to people for providing us with these trailers of the series, as they satisfy our curiosity to some extent. But I am dying to watch the real picture, man.

When Sci-fi announced to wrap up its’ very popular ‘Battlestar Galactica’, all sci-fi fans throughout the world, expressed their woes over network’s decision. Network will end this sci-fi drama very soon, in just a few months. Currently, series is running with fourth season and next episode of this season will be aired on January 16, 2009. Filming of all upcoming episodes is complete and nowadays, we’ll are waiting to know what will happen to our favorite characters in the upcoming episodes and how storyline will turn towards the end. Yeah, before we discuss about the spin –off, I’d like to tell you that your favorite ‘Battlestar Galactica’ stars will be seen in the TV movie entitled ‘The Plan’. So, before the spin off, we buddies will catch the TV movie! You know, the best thing about sci-fi dramas is that future never runs out. Series has not ended yet and TV movie and spin-off are ready to continue the plot.

Much to the surprise of all fans, Sci-fi Network has recently announced that they’ll make a spin off of series which will take place in the decades before ‘Battlestar Galactica’. The new show will be entitled ‘Caprica’, and will be set in 50 years prior to the series and will follow the Adamas and the Greystones, two competing families. Production of the new show will begin in 2009 and it’ll be on air in 2010, most probably. Among the star cast are Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, Paula Malcomson, and Polly Walker etc and 20 episodes have been already announced by the Network. As per the statement of Mark Stern, executive vice president of programming for Sci-Fi, its definitely not as dark as Battlestar, but like that show, this series also have smart, dimensional characters who grapple with issues of love, sex and politics from a world in transition.”

So, what you have to say? I know a long wait is ahead but still man, now we have some hopes to see ‘Battlestar Galactica’ once again and I think, ‘Caprica’ would surely do better than its parent TV show.

These days there is just one thought that keeps haunting my mind and that is, that soon we will have to say goodbye to this amazing series. This is not an easy job to do, after all we don’t get to see such amazing series every second day. Right. I hope that you agree with me and even if you don’t, never mind. Well, it’s not just hard for me, but even for the channel. You know even they are preparing in a big way to bid farewell to one of the channels favorite series.

Now that, less than two months are left for the series to come back and hit the screens in the most smashing way, the channel is doing its bit to prepare the audiences. The network is increasing their promotion of the show to get fans ready for Galactica’s big send-off. They have also planned a new half-hour recap special entitled “BSG: Essential Elements,” which is set to air January 11 at 11pm. Besides, a new Battlestar Galactica webisode series entitled “The Face of the Enemy” is also under productions. Most likely it will premiere online in December. Apart from all this, did you know that the final episodes of the series are going to vary in size with the final three possibly constituting a series finale up to 4 hours in length?

Now, isn’t that a special way of ending the series. Well, I don’t think that this kind of special treatment have been given to any other series in the history of television. Well, as far as my knowledge of television is concerned. Anyways, all I am excited about is that soon we will get to see some new episodes of the series. ‘Battlestar Galactica’ has been one of the most celebrated and talked about series in the recent past. There is nothing that is not known to the viewers. This series about the spaceships and Cylon’s is now about to end. The fourth season of the series, which was left incomplete due the writers strike, is now all set to be aired on January 19, 2009. This season will have ten episodes in it and that will be the end of this fabulous series.

Now, that the end of the series is quite near. There are number of questions that keep coming back to my mind. All the time, I keep thinking about what will they show in the next episodes? The questions that bother me the most are what will be the end of Caprica? Last time her fate was left undecided and I am very eager to know what will happen of her. Other things that bother me are will the lost race be able to find the Earth and reunite with the other members of their race or will they have to face their end. What do you think will happen? Will the humans be able to fight their own creation or will they be finished by them.

I know that all these questions, of mine; will only be answered once the series has started. And, I also know that these questions not only bother me but each and every fan of ‘Battlestar Galactica’. But, don’t you think that we all have really waited for long and now, at least, I am losing out on my patience. The worst thing is that as the days are getting closer, for the series to restart, it is getting all the more difficult to wait.

But, one thing is for sure, I am definitely going to miss the series after it finishes with this season. The series have been my favorite ever since it started and I have never missed a single episode. I wish we could some more of it. Don’t you think so?

An all new Battlestar Galactica event is set to go on air in 2009. It has been already confirmed by the network that 10 final episodes will be aired in 2009 and along with these final episodes, now we’ll have a special two-hour event in the upcoming year.

This special event is set to be directed by series star Edward James Olmos and to be written by the series’ executive producer Jane Espenson. It will be aired exactly after the highly anticipated conclusion of series in 2009. Some names have been disclosed by the creators and some are yet to be declared. Most probably, the star cast will include Michael Trucco, Dean Stockwell and Aaron Douglas. I hope, in the upcoming days, we’ll have some more celebrity names on the list!

Well, what’d be the story line? Rumors are predicting that the events are set before miniseries and it’d be revolving around the wake of the Cylons’ destructive forces. Just that is what I know so far. Okay, it’s not that satisfying but trust me, no more words have been uttered by any representative of the series so we’ll have to wait till they announce something about the plot-line.

Finally, 2009 is going to be a marvelous year when we’ll have 10 more episodes of series along with an extra bonus- a two hour special. DVD releases will also be made by Universal Studios Home Entertainment after the airings. Shooting of this upcoming special event is being done in Vancouver and very soon we’ll have this sci-fi TV drama with us!!!

So now here’s something which I am sure will be of interest to thousands of Galactica fans, at least I was interested in it. How about knowing what your favorite stars wore on your favorite show. What props were used by them. Here’s a few of them for you…

Remember the pilot episode. This dress was born by “Cassiopeia” (Laurette Spang) in that episode and that was the time her character as first encountered by Starbuck and the other warriors until Athena catches her and Starbuck in the launch tube. The dress is worn many more times by Laurette during other episodes of the series.

“Serena” (Jane Seymour) wore this dress in the second half of the pilot episode during the award ceremony on Carrilon and later on in the series too.

This is the famous Doctor Salik’s medical tunic which was worn by him through out the series

As we all know that this is a comeback series, but a few props were used from that of the original series and The Viper helmet is one of them. Most of the helmets used in the series were repainted, however this remains intact with its original glossy paint.

This is the all famous “Commander Adama” and his “microphone” which was used by him in the opening scenes of most of the later episodes as he dictated entries to his journal. It was also used to address the fleet from the bridge.

This is the ID plate from the front of Landram two. Only one Landram was constructed for the series. Three id plate sets were used to suggest that there were more than one vehicle. During the pilot episode, plates designating Landrams two, four and seven were used

This show has been rated one of the best shows on air, and the credit goes to its twenty million viewers and fans. And that also a come-back series reaching that high happens rare. A television series must be relevant to its viewers in order to be successful. The good thing is that the show has fans of almost every age as the issues addressed in the show are close to home for many of us. The popularity of the show is such that a number of series of book adaptation, original novels have been based on the concept. Not only that video games, comics and even toys have been made on the concept such is the popularity of the show.

The one bit of huge news that was not made at Comic-Con was the identity of the final Cylon on Battlestar Galactica, which will be revealed at the end of the series’ run next year. When one person in the audience begged BSG executive producers David Eick and RonaldD. Moore to “give us a clue who the final Cylon is just a clue,” hundreds of fans in the room screamed, “No!” (Mercifully, not everyone finds the television viewing experience enhanced by spoilers.) BSG star Jamie Bamber said, “The ending is an ending. It is utterly sublime. It’s the perfect way to end the show. It does everyone and everything justice.” Since this would likely be the BSG cast’s final appearance at Comic-Con, the crowd gave them a thunderous and oddly moving standing ovation at the end of the session.
